Encounter with Jerry 110 from astern, spotted by Sgt. VanMeester and blasted with tail guns. Near target, enemy nightfighter came at us, again spotted by Sgt. VanMeester who hit him, but he shot out our radio before fluttering away in the night. Hit by flak over target, damaged tailguns. Bomb run OFF, but enemy was bombed.
Over North Sea on flight home, another Jerry 110 came at us, put holes in SPRINGBOK, no serious damage that we noticed. Believed to have hit enemy 110, but not seriously. Chief of Maint. reports ammo box damaged in mid-section and bomb bay doors were rendered inoperable.
Springbok and lads will be ready for the next mission.
