The flight to the target was uneventful and arrived over Maisy without harrassment. As we left the target area Steven was confident that atleast some of our payload had hit it's mark.
We were picked up by a Ju-88 on the way out that caught us all unaware. The port wing got a little shot but our new Mid-Upper gunner, young Phillip, took a very nasty wound. Word from the hospital is that he'll live but won't be getting in a plane again.
The rest of the flight back to Blighty was as uneventful as the flight in and we made a routine landing.
Shame to lose our second Mid-Upper gunner in as many missions. Third time lucky?
