RADIO BERLIN news report of 27 April, 44, 1200 hr GMT stated British bomber crashed last night near village of Soltau. Luftwaffe authorities reported that a Luftwaffe Nightfighter pilot, flying a patrol between Hamburg and Bremen, encountered and fired upon an British Lancaster bomber. The Luftwaffe reported that the bomber caught fire and exploded. Local Saxon defense forces reported the capture of three British airmen not far from the crash site. The captured enemy airmen were turned over to the German military have been taken to Hamburg for questioning.

Re: Interned British Airmen
The International Red Cross has reported to British Military officials that three South African airmen have been interviewed by officials of the IRC and found to be in good condition following their capture and internment in a German Military Prisoner of War Facility. The South African airmen are Sgt. Ian Sinclair, Sgt. Pete Rodrigues and Cpl. Jonny Crandel, from the aircraft SPRINGBOK.
