From Radio Berlin intercept: Luftwaffe nightfighter piloted by Lt. Karl Mueller von Lettlow of Munich shot down British heavy bomber over the coast of France on a recent routine night patrol. Lt. von Lettlow reported that his gunfire caused the British heavy bomber to catch fire and crash. Local security forces in Normandy reported that seven British aviators were captured in the area of the crashed bomber. Our congratulations to Lt. von Lettlow in his defense of our homeland!
From International Red Cross, Geneva, Switzerland: Report from Red Cross representatives in Germany report seven British airmen from bomber PRAIRRE ROSE are being processed and interned as enemy combattants. The names of these British airmen have not yet been released to the Red Cross.
