Maiden trip of L-Lion. P/O Brown and Sgt Niven returned to activity duty following their return from France and were unsurprisingly quiet.
We were jumped by a couple of aggressive Me-110s over Belgium and Hasselt itself. Engine no.3 was knocked out, as was the radio. Surprised we didn't suffer more serious damage with the amount of hits we took.
It would appear the bad weather over the target didn't have a negative impact on the bomb run; P/O Morrison was confident he managed hit the target.
A quiet and thankfully uneventful run home and textbook landing.
