We head off to our mission with high hopes for a succesful mission. We are met almost immediatly by a ME-110. and are hit hard! The starboard wing root is hit. also the #4 engine is knocked out! We manage to get past as another 110 hits us. the Naigator is hit! lightly wounded. and the wing root suffers another blow! The rear gun has also been knocked out! On another pass we suffer a hit & lose some fuel! We have taken too much & must turn back. To live to fly another day. Luckily we encounter no more dreaded night fighters.
