Marie Mission 73 AAR : Bourg Léopold

A good trip tonight! LeBlanc spotted our first Me-110 of the night when we were well over Belgium. We took some minor damage despite our evasive action, but when the 110 ended up dead ahead of us, Madden made "dead" a reality before moving to his bombsight.

We avoided searchlights and found no flak over the target, although a single-engined fighter made an ineffective pass. Madden gave us a good run on the TIs.

We made it back to the Channel before being attacked again. This time it was a surprise. But it didn't matter — just like last time, we took some minor damage and then evasive action placed a Me-110 right in front of us. Packard, who just replaced Oak in the mid-upper turret a week ago, got his first victory.

We landed with the crew in high spirits, looking forward to a break in the upcoming full-moon period.
