My Darling Mission 73 AAR : Bourg Léopold

Quiet flight there and back. Perhaps the lousy weather helped give us a break over the target as we made our approach, "Bombs Gone." our bomb aimer called calmly over the intercom. I worked my turret slowly back and forth, seeing fires in the target area as the ship turned for home. It was colder back here then before with parts of the plexi glass removed. A trick some of the older hands passed on, easier to see Jerry and all. Before we knew it we were over the coast and back home again. As we got out and waited for the truck, we talked about how it all seemed like a training op.

At debrief we found out we put 20% on target … not a bad start.
