Mission Debriefing:
First trip out everything was going good till we hit the target. This is when a Me110 surprised our gunners and shot us up a bit. The dirty Hun jammed up our bomb bay doors making it imposable to drop our load. Quiet frustrating. Sgt. Trendell encouraged this German to break off his attack after his second run on us. As we franticly worked over the damage to the bomb bay doors a Me109 cam in and took out our number four engine. With the extra weight of the bombs and one engine down our trip home was long. To our relief, after hours of horrific anticipation that fighters would ravage us, we made it home unmolested. Our landing we tense with our full load of bombs, but we touched down like a feather to the relief of seven souls.
