Whew. Home at last. LONG flight, crappy weather … I believe we did find the target, but missed it with our bombs. However, the chaps shot down just about every Jerry that came near us; Mid-Upper gunner Sgt. Abbott got two as did Tail Gunner Sgt. Richardson! So, I guess the mission was not a total wash, Jerry is down four Bf 110 fighters.
Damages to aerocraft include a hit to the port rudder and the starboard rudder controls. There are also a few other holes to be patched.
