Quiet flight all around. Luck was with us as we saw only a few jerry fighters out and about and their aim was pretty poor. Over the target we only seen light flak come up towards us. Just us our bomb aimer was getting ready to press the tit, we heard a large bang! We got hit by a lucky shot into the port wing and knocked out our #2 engine. That caused our load to go wide abit, I think we put some on target, from what I could see out of my turret that is. Skipper got us out of there quick and we pretty much tired to stay hidden in the dark night. I dont think we rested easy until we cross of the cliffs of Dover. Skipper brought her in with no problems. At debriefing we later found out that we put 10% on target.
