We are off to Bremen, a long way into Germany. no problems most of the way. As soon as we hit the coast. a 110 attacks! we take some hits! the bomb Aimer is wounded! Not seriously though. We get close and a flurry of activity! another 110 hits us, the wing root is hit, port side. The tail gunner gets him though! Over the target we are attacked again mixed eith the wounded aimer. we miss the target! we turn for home a 110 attacks, but we upper gunner gets a piece & drives him off! we are away & just short of the coast. we are hit again! #2 engine is gone! we are attacked yet again, for another pass. the tailgun has the nightfighter trailing smoke! We are finally clear. and limp home from a long journey.
