A return to Germany led to increased fighter activity on the way to, over and on the way back from, the target. Three encounters left us with a rear turret out of action, a leaking petrol tank that meant we only just made it back to the south coast and a claim by the MU/G for an Me 110 destroyed. The photograph showed us some way off the A/P.
