Evil Edna Mission 82 AAR : Givors

"Hello? Hello? — Hayward here Sir. We're down in France but most of us are all right - Milsom and the Skipper are POW though."

Evil Edna ran out of fuel due to flak damage over target (the which, incidentaly, caused a clean miss with the bomb load) and after going as far as they could back toward the lines Pilot, Flt Lt Hurst was forced to order a bail out.

With a wounded bomb aimer (hit by a splinter from a nightfighters cannon shell on exit from the tgt zone Hurst elected to try a crash landing but was himself injured in the crash.

German troops were quickly on scene and both Bomb aimer Misom and F/LT Hurst were taken prisoner.

Aided by members of the Maquis the remainder of the crew made contact with lead elements of advancing allied troops late the following evening.
