A Me-110 picked us up while we were still over the Channel. Did some superficial damage to the #2 engine and wounded Lundquist, our wireless operator, before we even knew we were under attack. Was able to keep out of his sights until he gave up on us.
Despite the weather, searchlights were able to catch us over the target. Flak missed us anyway, but a FW-190 followed the beam to us. Fortunately, it missed us and disappeared into the darkness.
Completely missed the target again, and returned to base. Lundquist's wound was minor, and he won't miss a mission.
