Victorious Mission 89 AAR : Aulnoye

July 22, 1944

The Victorious came under heavy anti-aircraft fire over Aulnoye. Flack exploded a fuel tank on the port wing, and the aircraft spun out of control over the city. It is uncertain if any of the crew survived.

Bomb Aimer Walter Davies and Flight Engineer Harry F. Potter were able to escape the burning plane, and were captured by the Germans.
