We are off to Dijon on this dark night. no problems on the way to the target. as we approach the target, we are intercepted by a ME-110. We take a couple of hits, supperficial damage. the Mid-upper gunner gets a piece of him & the 110 is flying off, trailing smoke. we are over the Railyard & are caught in the searchlight! A 109 comes at us & the upper gunner is hit! A light wound! We still manage to drop thirty percent on target! A marvelous drop! We turn for home & get away from the lights. another 110 hits us and damages the port wing root! He comes around again, but the Tail gunner gets him! We are clear now & avoid any further detection, using the bad weather for our escape.
