Another long night over France.
Three separate nightfighters attacked us on the outbound leg. Hits were scored in both wings & both rudders but the only telling damage was to knock out the heaters in the nose compartment.
We were able to maintain altitude until after the bomb run but a flak hit in the rudder left us well wide of the markers.
The return was completely uneventful in spite of attracting all manner of small calibre flak barrages at low level.
