Well it might have been a shortish trip but we had to fight all the way there and all the way back. We got badly shot up losing two engines, one rudder, one elevator, one aileron, the top turret, rubber rafts, radio, intercom, oxygen in two compartments and the port brake.
I managed to get back on prayer and optimism and for a miracle the ground crew say they needn't write the old girl off.
An on target run made it worth our trip but we saw at least one aircraft (AmyLynn) explode over the target, must have been hit by flak.
