Kalas in the shoulder, the Boar came round for another pass this time our M/U was ready and let Jerry have it, but the M/U guns jammed before our guns could score any hits. Next thing we hear is our Tail Gunner SGT. Stratford yelling for help over the intercom he was hit on the second pass the round just grazing his right arm. the Tame boar finally broke off as we hit the island but then the flak started … We registered one hit dead on as it took the Port Elevator with it. This and a combination of the heavy Flack and unknown damage at the time resulted in our bombs being dropped right in the bloody water. We managed to get out of that hell storm and back to England. Damage to the Wizard is moderate. Control Cables — Hit, Port ammo box inoperable, Port elevator — destroyed. We counted seven more holes. SGT.
