Bloody daytime mission. A bunch of Folke-Wulf 190's bounced us from high. Escort fighters chased one of them off, Sgt. Craven got one with his MU guns (tore the wing off Jerry!) and before Sgt. Turner hit another one, the bloody kraut made two damaging passes at us. Worse damage was damaging bomb bay doors so they wouldn't function, hits to port wing root and port wing flap inoperable, hit to port rudder, and oxygen supply.
However, we made it safely back to base. Sgt. Bass (Flt. Eng), had his right leg grazed, but he should be able to continue his duties according to our Medical Officer. And again, I am thankful for these Yank sunglasses I won in that poker game in Soho a few months back.
