We made it to the target area without incident. We were then attacked by a lone fighter which knocked out the navigator oxygen and started a fire. Fortunately we got the fire out.
Flak then hit us and jammed the bomb bay doors. Because of this we were unable to drop our bombs.
We were forced to drop out of formation and head home alone. I guess the Germans were after everyone else because we didn't run into any fighters on the return flight.
