We were hit in zone 6 and lost the heat for the front part of the bomber. Since we were over halfway to the target we decided to descend and try to make it further. Fortunately we got a piece of the enemy and he broke off the attack before doing further damage.
We were then attacked by another fighter and they knocked out the #3 engine and got our fuel tank before being shot down.
We were leaking fuel badly and had to abort and turn for home. We were lucky that we had enough fuel to make it to back before bailing out.
All of the crew landed safely. We lost the plane but at least we all made it back.
