Keira Mission 106 AAR : Duisburg

We had made our way all the way to the target before the Germans showed up. A Me110 surprised our gunners but departed having caused little damage.

No searchlights or wild boars hindered our progress but then bang; flak found us and smashed the starboard aileron. That was enough to throw our bomb run off target.

Home bound two more 110s appeared. The first wrecked the starboard brake & landing gear; the second was driven off by Sgt. Tyne in the nose.

Landing was more spectacular than dangerous.
