Dragon's Rage Mission 110 AAR : Bremen

Pilot: Keith Duncan
Lancaster: Dragon's Rage
Target: Industry at Bremen
Date: 11/12 NOV 44
Target Weather: Good
Base Weather: Good

We took off and joined the stream headed to Bremen, we were attacked by a tame boar while still out over the sea, he went unnoticed until his guns opened up and shells started bouncing off of our tail and port wing. The hit to our tail did no effect to the Dragon's Rage while the one to our wing started putting some stress to the wing root. On his return flight SGT Cromwell tore the tail from the fighter spinning it to the ground as a bright fire ball(K). With the German coast in sight SGT Cromwell being a little bit more vigilant than the last time spotted a ME-110 coming up behind us, the first thing that we knew about it he was opening up with his guns, and then yelling in triumph as the fighter exploded(K). Over the target a ME-109 came at us, with F/O Green preoccupied SGT McCloud fired from the mid upper turret smashing the fighter (-2) the attacking fighter returned his fire missing us and then breaking off for repairs. Then to the horror of our crew a spotlight found us and latched on tracking us across the night sky. Then the Dragon's Rage shuddered as flak went off and started to twist the Dragon's Rage and filling our lovely bird with holes. We took two superficial hits, and then one to our starboard wing, and a second to our waist. The hit to our waist hit our Tail Gunner's Starboard Ammo Box. The hit to our starboard wing, destroyed our Aileron. Our bomb run was off target, with none of our bombs hitting the target. Returning to home, we didn't have any more problems over Bremen but with the coast in sight Cromwell yelled that we had yet another fighter coming at us, and then his guns took down a third fighter(K), all of the Luftwaffe's night fighters must have had it out for us tonight. SGT Cromwell then called out that he saw another fighter coming at us, this time his fire missed the fighter. But the Wild Boar sure didn't miss us, hitting us, with a superficial hit, then in the starboard wing, and in the tail.

With one shot our Starboard Elevator was ripped away. The hit to our wing, scratching the paint. On his second pass, McCloud missed but once again we were torn into by the fighter. Our Port Rudder took a hit, and then a devastating hit tore our tail guns apart. Our Port Wing hit was superficial, leaving only the three starboard wing hits to worry about, all three of which were superficial. On the third pass McCloud tore into the fighter (-2) throwing his aim off and letting us continue on. Somehow we made it back to England, flying a wreck but the mechanic says that it will be fixable and we should have the Dragon's Rage back tomorrow night.
