Our longest trip since Nuremberg, a month ago. An Me-110 took out our raft before we knew it was there. Tannenbaum scared him off as I twisted Perdido through the sky in an attempt to get us clear. Had a smooth run to the target until a flak burst roughed up our starboard rudder, and it stopped responding to the controls. Tannenbaum kept us on target despite the buffetting.
We were still over Germany when another Me-110 attacked. Quinn saw this one coming, but couldn't hit it. Our wings were left with some minor damage from its parting shots.
Quiet ride for the rest of the way home.
