Our first brush with the Luftwaffe in the form of a Me110 passed off fairly uneventfully with just superficial damage to our Lanc.
Over the target however some unseen enemy riddled the port wing with shell holes and the port inner fuel tank burst into flames.
Everyone got out safely and we were grateful to be gathered up by the local anti aircraft crew who saved us from a gathering mob of angry citizens.
