Our second op saw a Me110 sneaking in and putting his first burst into the port wing. Luckily there was not serious damage. As he banked in for a second pass Sgt Edwards blew him clean apart from the mid-upper position.
A Ju88 showed up over the target but failed to hit us at all so the bomb release was straight forward other than the gloomy weather. Sgt Vaughan does remain confident that some of the load went down over the markers.
The homeward leg was uneventful with a safe landing in dubious weather.
