PM017, pilot officer A. Nagel reporting. We were surprised by a Tame Boar near Aachen. Mid-upper turret was rendered inoperable, and there was significant damage to the starboard wing. We continued, but were surprised by second Tame Boar north of Frankfurt. That time it was our port wing which got chewed up, including an oil tank fire in the #2 engine and a fuel leak. We did not have enough fuel to make England, but the engineer squeezed enough drops out that we were able to make it over friendly lines before bailing out. All the lads made it, and should be back for the next mission.
