This was our longest trip over Hunland so far and Jerry tried to do his best to make it our last. Nightfighters dogged us all the damn way to the target. I must have strained the airframe throwing the poor old thing about and somebody honked all over the fuselage after the Elsan took a cannon shell but most of the damage was to the Port rudder, aileron and some self sealed holes in the fuel tanks.
Over target a couple of the boys took splinters — but nothing too serious and the buffeting wasn't sufficient to knock us off target. Photo shows a 40% run.
Homeward trip we were unmolested.
