PM019, flight engneer D. Pelton reporting. That was a bitch. 110 made a run at us when we were midway over Belgium, knocking out the mid-upper turret. He had another go at us near the German border, but rear gunner G. Yankton drove him away. Another 110 blew away both our elevators southeast of Saarbrucken, before bomb aimer B. Vance shot him down. We really got lit up as we approached Stuttgart, a 110 knocking out the tail turret and seriously wounding our pilot, A. Ollie, mid-upper gunner F. Xray, and lightly wounding Yankton. Ollie stayed at the controls until after the bomb run, allowing Vance to put 30% on target. We'd also suffered a fuel leak, but Pelton calculated we'd have enough t make friendly lines. Unfortunately, as we were approaching said lines, another 110 got into us — not that we were any longer able to shoot back — causing both an oil tank and a fuel fire. I'd taken over controls after the bomb run, so I rang the bail out alarm.
Me and the lads were able to get Ollie and Xray into their parachutes, and out the door, but we've not seen them, or our WTO E. Room, since. (312 Peckham Points prior to total loss of plane.)
