Hit by Luftwaffe night fighters over Netherland. As we approached Dutch-German border, Bf110 hit us, holing port inboard fuel tank. Sgt. Ainstay reported that we could either continue onto target and not have fuel to fly back to base, or abort mission and return home. I chose to abort mission. Released bombs and heading back to base. We were hit again by Ju88 over Netherlands, but did no further damages to us. Landed on fumes.
