The first Jerry showed up mid way across Holland. He got a burst in before we spotted him and this smashed the port brakes. As he came round again Sgt Bell hit him from his position in the mid-upper turret and the enemy departed without further damage.
We then made it all the way to Stuttgart before a second nightfighter appeared. This was a Ju88 but even so he again got in a burst before we spotted him. On this occasion no hits were scored and in a repeat of the earlier action Sgt Bell again sent him packing.
The searchlights coned us over the target but luck was still with us as the flak failed to find us and no wild boar was able to take advantage of our predicament.
Sgt Lee got the bombs down over the markers and we turned for what was a very uneventful flight home.
Home safely and all good to go again.
