4 Enemy aircraft attacks in zones:
out 5- Ju 88 veteran no hits to both sides, Tail and Mid Upper fire together 4 times but with no effects.
out 8- Ju 88 veteran surprise attack-made 6 hits- instruments- oxygen system out, drop to <10000 feet in target zone and light flak in every zone. Also port wing aileron inoperable, starboard rudder 1st hit.
Over target no figters, although fixed by searchlights.
Medium Flak missed. Excellent weather, good aiming, 60 percent accuracy.
On a way back in zone 8 fixed by searchlight on low altitude and damaged by light flak- 4 hits- starboard 1st wing root hit, bomb bay doors inoperable.
In zone 6 back- attack by Bf 110 with average pilot was repulsed by Mid Gunner Kowalik, which damaged a Hun, breaks off after attack.
Almost at home in zone 5 back, over Netherland Ju 88 with Expert made 3 attack and inflicted 10 hits. Great luck- 9 was superficial and hit seriously only 1- Tailplane root 1st hit.
We were very happy to see our home after the mission.
