Easy trip in, but we were caught by searchlights and flak over the target. One burst put a couple holes in the starboard wing (one quite serious), and knocked Yanacek off the TIs.
Turning for home, Unger spotted a twin-engined fighter behind us. Moonlight Cocktail was hit, but as I took evasive action, Yanacek found the Me-110 ahead of us and made up for missing the target by hitting EA good. Very good.
Unger reported his suit heat out, so I took us down to 10,000 feet for the trip back. Searchlights found us once over the Netherlands, but the flak was ineffectual.
