We have successfully returned from 3rd mission and it is the most important thing. We met Bf 110 with green pilot over Dortmund before bomb run.
Tail gunner spotted german aircraft and badly dameged the Hun which was even unable to continue attack and breaks off. There were no searchlights and wild boar fighter but we were hit by Flak 2 Times by 6 shells.
We were extremely lucky — all hits were superficial.
We missed the target, all our bombs fell away from oil installation in empty fields and meadows.
