What a real thriller! I apply for the awards for the gallant crew! First we met in zone 9 Bf 110 Average pilot which made surprise attack with Schrage musik guns. In 3 attacks made 6 hits for 87 points:
Starboard wing — Landing gear inoperable and -3 modifier in landing,
Starboard Wing Flap inoperable,
Engine 3 — oil tank hit, leakage, engine will be out after 2 zones over Dresden.
Over target second enemy aircraft Ju 88 Veteran pilot was spotted and damaged by Tail Gunner and was FCA. Made damages: Rubber Rafts destroyed, Starboard Aileron inoperable, Port Aileron — no effect,
We were not spotted by searchlights and was no Wild Boar but Flak scored another 3 hits (superficial, waist, tail) — Mid Upper Turret was slightly wounded and in Tail was 1 oxygen supply hit).
Bomb Run was very successful — 40% bombs reached targets.
Shortly after turning for home, engine 3 was finally out.
Again in zone 9 back we were surprised by Bf 110 with Ace but with great luck German ace missed 3 Times in a row!!!
Over the border between Germany and Nederland Tail Gunner spotted Ju 88 with veteran pilot, another heavy fight occured, Ju 88 was damaged but continues attacks. Made 6 hits (3 superficial, Tail, Waist) — and Bomb Bay and Autopilot Mechanism was inoperable.
Totally aircraft was hit 17 Times for 139 points.
Landing was successful (very, very lucky- 5-3=2) but very rough and dangerous with landing gear inoperable. It inflicted another damages 60 points + 20 points = 80 points. TOTAL 219 damage points. Instruction tells that over 200 points and above, those who have survived have been to hell and back.
