The weather over Lincoln was good as we took off for a short hop to Duisburg, Germany. Most of the trip being over what is now friendly territory, there were no encounters with the GAF until we neared the target when Roger (Sgt Bandman) reported an Me 110 coming up on our tail. Roger made short work of Jerry and Belligerent Bulldog proceeded to the drop point unmolested by further EA. Though the searchlights didn't find us and the Ack-Ack was light, there were still several near misses (rolls of 3 and 11) as well as one burst that put a few holes into the starboard wing and waist, though causing no serious damage. W/O Thomas hardly needed the TIs or OBOE, the fires from preceding AC's bombs making target ID easy. Estimate 60% effects on target.
No EA were encountered upon target egress, nor on the trip home for that matter. Belligerent Bulldog touched down at Lincoln after a short but successful mission. AC and crew will be ready to fly again tomorrow (2 Peckham Points damage).
