J-Jam Mission 135 AAR : Pforzheim

Until a sharp encounter with a ju 88 over the Dutch/German border the trip to Pforzheim was uneventful. Fortunately the Hun was spotted as he angled in to try to bring his shragemusik cannon to bear and the subsequent corkscrewing meant that though the unfortunate locals were subject to a rain of empty brass cases they weren't subjected to a rain of bits of Aeroplane and crew.

Over target the markers showed clear and though we took some minor damage to the fuselage we did manage a 40% run. Egressing the target zone we were hit again by flak and the #1 engine caught fire. The extinguishers did work and though the loss cut the power to the rear turret we managed to get back to base unmolested by any further NF. The flak remained light, and fortunately off target all the way to the front lines
