A short tussle with a NF on the run into target saw Forster our mid-upper claim one damaged and fortunately luck and some fancy flying (even if I say so myself) saw our only opposition miss us completely.
Despite a couple of superficial shell splinters from flak we put the bomb load down close to the markers aided by Oboe and then tootled home.
Talk about chaos! Radio calls saying people were getting attacked over base, others saying they were being shot up by our own AA, lights off on the runway and a pile of bits and fire engines in the middle of the fairway. Fortunately we were able to scoot off onto the grass without the lateral stress on the undercart wiping it off and my first mission as command Pilot was done. The chaps were very supportive and though they all treat me like a kid I think this is a topping crew.
