Jenny Bryce Mission 138 AAR : Chemnitz

Mission 138 Debriefing
Target: Chemnitz

We took off on schedule and had no problem moving into the stream. Our flight was quiet until we were well into the heart of Germany. An ME 110 approached, but our tail gunner spotted him early. I threw the plane into evasive manoeuvres. Bombardier, Sgt John Houston, managed to get the 110 into his sights and blew him out of the sky.

We proceed to the target zone where we were jumped by a Ju88. He raked us with fire before I was able to initiate evasive action. Thankfully the damage was largely superficial. Sgt Houston managed to shoot up his fuselage before the enemy broke off.

Over the target the search lights failed to spot us, and we saw no sign of Wild Boars operating in the area. The enemy flak was as dangerous as always and we took a couple of hits, causing a light wound to our tail gunner. Despite the poor visibility and the flak we put our eggs on the target. Couldn't tell you how much we hit, but the crew witnessed secondary explosions.

Our trip home was quiet. We will be ready to fly the next mission.
