A prolonged tussle with a determined and experienced NF on the run in to target presented our only real contact with the enemy and though he shredded the Port elevator and frightened the life out of Mick Seely damaging the turret and leaving him with a cannon shell lodged in the breech of one of his guns that will make a great souvenir — just right for the mantelpiece. Our hun eventually gave up on us and though there was flak over the target itself none came very close and we were able to put 30% on the markers and then put the nose down for home without further interference from the enemy.
Damage means a new turret — any chance of the Rose-Rice with twin .5's Sir? and a replacement elevator but that will be completed by sunset tonight I'm told.
