Fifty miles short of the target, we were intercepted by a fighter, which put a number of holes in both mainplanes and wounded the F/E rather badly. He was put on the rest bed. We also had a leak in No.4 fuel tank. However,we pushed on to the target where we were coned by searchlights and attacked by an S/E fighter, claimed as damaged by MU/G. Bombs went down on the markers. Due to fuel loss, we put down at an aerodrome in Belgium, where F/E received medical attention-he will be fit to fly with us again.
