Two Ju 88s were encountered on the outbound trip. Both were damaged by our gunners but the mid upper guns and the starboard wing flap were destroyed.
We bombed without searchlights, tame boars or flak interference but were off target in the gloom.
Home bound a Me110 hit the starboard inner engine which started to run away and could not be feathered.
We all had to bail out but were promptly rounded up and reunited at the local police station cells.
