Had multiple encounters with enemy night fighters prior to bomb run. Lost one engine and light wound to w.o. Were lit up by enemy searchlights and hit by flak. OFF TARGET. Encountered what we believe to have been a Ju88 just after crossing the coast on return leg of flight. Loss of engine cowling was the worse damage that Jerry inflicted.
Landed safely. Wounded man treated and released for continued duties.
