A quiet flight to the target and a good bomb run resulted in bombs on target although we will have to wait for this to be confirmed. Encountered an enemy fighter as we passed over the coast on our way home, he managed to put several bursts into our port wing and damaging the outboard engine. Our return fire missed the target but seemed to have driven him off.
