All the way to the target, we were wondering what had happened. Not a sign of the Luftwaffe anywhere. Then over Pilsen, still nothing, and the flak and searchlights were directed elsewhere. Czechowski thought we had a good run, but unfortunately the photo disagrees.
South of Magdeburg, Wyatt finally spotted a Ju-88 behind us. We took some damage despite my evasive action, but it wasn't serious. We were just about to leave the continent when Wyatt spotted another enemy aircraft, this one a Me-110. Once again, I took evasive action and we took some minor damage.
