Our Tail turret was knocked out with a surprise attack by a 110 as we entered Germany. Shortly after we bombed the target, we downed a Ju-88, but not before he knocked the heating out in the tail. To avoid frostbite we dropped to 10,000 feet. Luckly on our way back we only took one hit of Flak which only caused superficial damage. The rest of the trip was uneventful.
